The Wales international is not always a regular visitor to the Red Devils, but remains optimistic about his future at Old Trafford
Manchester United winger Daniel James insisted that after spending the 2020-21 season inside and outside the Red Devils, he has more to gain next season.
James has played 26 times in all games this season, a sharp drop from 46 games last season.
However, although he is not always involved in the first team, James said he has improved as a player in the past 12 months and believes that he is ready to make a bigger impact in the 2021-22 season.

Looking back on the progress he has made in his second season as a Manchester United player, James told the club website: “I think I am developing every game. I am learning.
“I reflect on every game and every season I have played, whether I have played zero minutes, whether I have played all the games, I think I have been learning. For me, my potential is still far away, I just I want to keep improving.”
Although he is not always a regular visitor to the team, James still scored five goals, including in the Champions League against Istanbul Basaksehir and the Europa League away against Real Sociedad.
The Sociedad game in March was one of the eight consecutive starts for the winger in nine games, and has only started once since the beginning of last year.
He admitted that the extension on the wing was his favorite part of the season, and his strike to society was a prominent moment.
“When we played Istanbul, I came off the bench and scored. I set some small goals for myself and score as many goals as possible,” he said.
“I scored a goal against Newcastle, but I think the social football game I enjoyed on the road.
“[I was] I participated in a few goals there and I entered the scoring table myself, so maybe that [was my favourite]. “
“Football without fans is different”
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020-21 season will be played mostly empty, which is a creepy background compared to the usual noisy stadiums across the country in the Premier League.
James said that players are getting used to empty stands, but admitted that football without fans is different. Their potential return next season will only increase expectations for the new season.
“The situation is different. It has been very busy. We know that the fans support us from home, but the situation is different,” he said.
“Now that there are no fans, this is a bit normal, but I think you watch the game where we played, you can hear the cheers, you kind of forgot. You remember it clearly in your mind, but you only I want to hear the roar while running with the ball.
“This will be a great thing. I think they lack it as much as we do. I hope that when everything is safe, we can get it back soon.”
