The managing director of Shree Cement expressed dissatisfaction with the negligence of East Bengal officials.
Hari Mohan Bangur, managing director of Shree Cement Limited, expressed dissatisfaction with the deadlock between the company and the Kolkata giant East Bengal.
In the interview TV9 Bangladesh, Bangur blamed the negligence of the club officials on the signing of a final agreement that halted the club’s team building process before the upcoming season.
What did Hari Mohan Bangur say?
“I’m not sure about the future of East Bengal. I don’t know how to bring hope to supporters? Although we know that supporters are waiting, we don’t want to make false promises. Today the situation has reached this point. Thanks to East Bengal officials. Because of their negligence, they live in this place. They have resolved this issue by not signing a final agreement for six months. This is a one-minute work, but they have spent a lot of time. How will this work?”

Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, played an active role in making Shree Cement an investor in East Bengal. The terms of agreement between the club and the investors were signed in the West Bengal State Government Secretariat building in the presence of the Chief Prime Minister.
However, the managing director of Shili Cement Company did not want the chief minister to intervene immediately because he hinted that officials still had time to complete the procedure.
“At the moment, we don’t want to involve Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. There is still time. As long as club officials sign an agreement, this issue can be resolved.”
What is happening in East Bengal?
On March 24, 2021, Shree Cement issued an ultimatum regarding the club officials, asking them to sign the final agreement between the two parties. They also attached draft articles and drafted the final agreement accordingly.
The two parties signed the terms in September 2020. On this basis, the sports rights of the club and all its assets and properties (including intellectuals) are transferred to the newly established company Shree Cement East Bengal Foundation, which is between the two Joint venture party.
On the other hand, the officials of the East Bengal Club insisted on the position that some clauses in the final agreement were different from the clauses. However, investors continue to refute their claims.
Due to uncertainty, German midfielder Matti Steinmann (Matti Steinmann) renewed his contract with the club for one year, but he left the club. Another star, Bright Enobakhare, is also unlikely to renew his contract with the Red and Golds.
