The Kenya Football Federation has confirmed that the FKF Premier League will resume on May 14 instead of the original scheduled resumption in December.

“In this regard, and after negotiating with the Ministry of Sports, we would like to inform you that the FKF plan will be launched on May 14, 2021, in strict compliance with the existing government Covid-19 agreement and FKF/Caf Covid-19 agreement. The Premier League competition agreement.
“Therefore, we would like to inform you that, in accordance with the Ministry of Health and the FKF Covid-19 agreement, all Premier League clubs must be tested for Covid-19 before the planned start date of the league.
“In view of the above, we would like to inform you that FKF plans to launch a Covid-19 test tomorrow [Tuesday, May 11, 2021, therefore, we kindly but urgently request your club to provide the federation with the below-listed details by tomorrow [Tuesday], May 11, 8:00 in the morning to guide the test process.
“The list of 25 players and 30 officials to be tested. The club will contact the contact through their number and email address.”
FKF further warned that clubs that cannot submit the required information within the prescribed time limit will be forced to bear their own bills in the process of testing players and officials.
The statement concluded: “Please note that any club that fails to provide the above information within the prescribed timetable will be required to pay for the Covid-19 test.”
Following a surge in coronavirus cases in the country, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the suspension of sports on March 26. This decision caused the league to initially suspend the game until further notice.
However, on May 1, Kenyatta confirmed the cancellation of the suspension of sports activities, but maintenance actions can only be taken under the strict guidance of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Sports.
