Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opening batsman for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), participated in his first practice before the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia on 7 June at the Oval.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is getting married on June 3, had Jaiswal picked as a backup player.

ICC posts video of Jaiswal

Here is a clip of Jaiswal’s first practice with the Men in Blue following his recruitment for the WTC championship:

Jaiswal hasn’t played for India yet, but in first-class cricket, he’s been a model of consistency with a perfect average of 80.21 in 15 games. A century and a half-century were among the young player’s outstanding 315 runs in five matches During the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy season, which he scored at a rate of 45.

He then led the Rest of India to a thumping 238-run victory in the Irani Cup match against Madhya Pradesh with amazing scores of 213 and 144.

Team India’s opening batsmen in the high-profile match are anticipated to be captain Rohit Sharma and the effective Shubman Gill.

After his stunning exploits in the IPL 2023, many analysts and fans have hailed Yashasvi Jaiswal as the next Indian cricket superstar.

During the 2023 IPL season, Yashasvi Jaiswal was in excellent form, amassing 625 runs in 14 games for the Rajasthan Royals at an average of 48.07 and a strike rate of 163.61.

The southpaw broke the record for the fastest 50 in league history against the Kolkata Knight Riders after earlier in the season scoring his first IPL century against the Mumbai Indians off just 13 balls.

Jaiswal won the Emerging Player of the Season title and came in fifth place in the Orange Cap race.
