Watch: Virat Kohli goes in search of MS Dhoni during practice session ahead of IPL 2022

The camaraderie between former India skippers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli is well known to everyone. “You will be my captain forever.” These were Kohli’s words after Dhoni announced his international retirement in August 2020. Since then, the two legendary cricketers are seen playing together only in the IPL, albeit for different franchises.

However, that hasn’t affected their bonding even by a bit and the same was evident on Friday (March 25) during a training session of both CSK and MI in Mumbai. All the teams have created their bubble in Mumbai with the league matches set to be played only Mumbai and Pune.

Also, the teams have been assigned different grounds in the capital city of Maharashtra for their training sessions. On Friday, CSK and RCB’s training session was scheduled at the same venue and it was no surprise that Virat Kohli, during practice, went and met his ‘captain’ Dhoni.

In a video going viral on Twitter, it could be seen that the former RCB captain is walking away from his training session as soon as he watches Dhoni. The duo then shared a heartwarming hug and began chatting with each other. Even the pictures of them meeting each other with a smile was shared by RCB’s official Twitter handle.

Here’s the video:

Faf du Plessis also meets his former teammates at CSK

Meanwhile, it was not only about Virat Kohli meeting MS Dhoni, there was a sense of nostalgia for Faf du Plessis as well who got a chance to meet his former teammates at CSK. Now the RCB skipper, Du Plessis was seen indulging in fun conversations with Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo and others as well. The pictures of the same were shared by CSK’s official Twitter handle.

It was indeed an emotional exit for Du Plessis from CSK as the franchise couldn’t manage to get him back at the mega auction. Du Plessis played only for CSK in his IPL career during the franchise’s existence. Even during their two-year hiatus from the league in 2016 and 2017, he played for Rising Pune Supergiant, the team that had MS Dhoni as captain for one season.
