The ECB has launched an investigation into the post-series party involving an all-night drinking session between England and Australia players at the England team hotel in Hobart after the Pink Ball Test. England’s Joe Root and James Anderson, as well as Australia’s Nathan Lyon, Alex Carey and Travis Hyde, were involved in a drinking party after Australia’s 4-0 Ashes win and kept going It continued until dawn, until the police forced the closure.

“Tasmanian police were called to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hobart on Monday morning after reports of someone being drunk in a function area. Just after 6:00am, officers spoke to guests and were asked to left the area. No further action will be taken by the police.”

The England assistant coach has his voice-over in the video saying: “Too loud. You were obviously asked to pack, so we were asked to come. Time for bed, thanks. They just wanted to pack. We had Nathan Lyon, Root, and There’s Carey and Anderson. I’ll just record this for lawyers. See you in the morning.”
According to reports, the European Central Bank is investigating the incident. According to the ECB statement, “Members of the England and Australia men’s teams shared drinks in the team area of the Hobart Hotel in the early hours of Monday. Hotel management received a noise complaint from a hotel guest, common in Australia, and local police were also present. .”
“The ECB will investigate further. We will not comment further until then.”
