Naseem Shah came to the fore back in 2019 after making his debut during Pakistan’s tour of Australia. A few months later, the speedster picked up a hat-trick against Bangladesh in a Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Shah hasn’t played a whole lot of cricket since then, but he hasn’t lost the hunger to taste success at various levels.

The Young Turk is currently plying his trade for the Quetta Gladiators, led by Sarfaraz Ahmedin the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). On Tuesday, February 15, Shah gave an account of his stupendous self during the game against Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

He picked up two wickets in his first two overs and dented the Zalmi’s batting unit. One of his wickets was of England batter Liam Livingstone, who was recently a part of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. Shah bowled a good length delivery that jagged back into the batter quite a bit.

Livingstone didn’t have much clue about it and his stumps went for a walk. Livingstone bagged a three-ball duck as the Zalmi were reduced to 6/2 in 1.3 overs. Prior to that Shah also trapped opening batter Hazratullah Zazai plumb in front .

Livingstone was one of the sought-after players in the IPL mega auction on February 12 and 13. Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) went hammer and tongs to secure the services of the England all -rounder.

In the end, the Knights and the Sunrisers threw in the towel and the Punjab-based team bagged Livingstone for INR 11.5 crores. In the previous IPL edition, he played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), captained by Sanju Samson.

As far as Shah is concerned, he’s making a serious case for himself to get picked in the national squad for the T20 World Cup later this year. Back on January 29, Shah picked up a five-wicket haul against the Karachi Kings at the National Stadium in Karachi.
