India’s Under-19 team has won the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. They beat South African Under-19s by 45 points to finish in Group B. Yash Dhull, Raj Bawa and Vicky Ostwal were the stars of the game.
India’s Under-19 captain Yash Dhull led from the front with an 82. He helped his team recover from a 11/2 with a total of 232 runs. Fast bowler Rajvardhan Hangargekar gave India an early break and knocked out South African opener Ethan John Cunningham in the first innings of the first innings.
But left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal dominated with a five-wicket haul, while left-arm seamer Raj Bawa cut in with four wickets. Every time a partnership is formed, Ostwal or Bawa will bring India back into the game in time.
Ostwal wove a net around the South African batsman, and the lower batsman didn’t have much of a clue as he played some quality spin bowling. Ostwal even played a few jaffas and was eventually selected for Nissan Play of the Day.
The ICC’s Twitter account posted a video of Ostwal knocking down Mickey Copeland with a classic left-arm spinner, and revealed that it was the delivery that won the Nissan Play of the Day. Ostwal threw the ball in the middle and in the legs to give the ball a spin. Copeland knew nothing and lost his stump.

Ostwal was awarded the man of the match with a figure of 5/28 for his 10-round quota.
