During the match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals on Saturday, a funny incident occurred between Delhi skipper David Warner and CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. It became viral on the internet as soon as it happened.
In the fifth over, Chahar delivered a deceptive slower ball, causing Warner to mistime his shot to cover. The risky single was attempted, but Warner’s heart must have skipped a beat as Moeen Ali missed a direct hit at the bowler’s end. Close call that could have been curtains for Warner.
Warner displayed his playful side as he cheekily stood out of the crease, tempting Indian fielder Ajinkya Rahane to throw. Rahane took the bait and threw it at the stumps. His throw missed the stumps and went towards Jadeja at covers. Warner’s audacious move didn’t t end there. Ravindra Jadejafielding at point, backed up the throw, and Warner playfully mimicked Jadeja’s sword celebration, swinging his bat in a similar fashion.
Be it Pushpa or any latest trend on Tiktok, David Warner has always entertained the fans with his antics on and off the field. This was another moment of light heartedness shown by the DC skipper. Even Phil Salt at the other end could not control his laughter.
Delhi finds themselves in trouble chasing a mammoth total. During the strategic time out, they were /3 with the required run rate above 14. Even with Warner at the crease, it is still very difficult for Delhi to chase this total.
After deciding to bat against Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 match at Delhi on Saturday, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad put up a terrific performance and helped Chennai Super Kings reach 223/3. Prior to Gaikwad’s dismissal by Chetan Sakariya for 79( 50), the pair had contributed 141 runs in 14.3 overs for the first wicket. Conway and Shivam Dube then led CSK’s charge, the latter of whom hammered a 9-ball 22 before being dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed. Anrich Nortje removed the New Zealander batsman for 87 ( 52). The game was ended by Ravindra Jadeja’s 7-ball 20, which included one six and three boundaries.
