The Big Bash League is hosting all kinds of exciting games this season, and it’s Cameron Boyce’s turn on Wednesday. Melbourne Renegade leg-turner has scored one of the rarest feats on a cricket pitch – a double hat-trick!
Alex Hales and captain Usman Kawaja have just wrapped up a stellar career in the Ashes, having started very well for the Sydney Thunder, with the Renegade being forced to take a back seat. The duo hit 80 in seven rounds before the stands were broken by Hales, picked up by Boyce – burrowing deep while trying to stretch their legs.
The first ball of the next ball, Boyce got rid of Jason Sanha, a turn and beat the batsman, who rushed out to put him high. Boyce scored a hat-trick in two to part ways between the rounds. He completed a small celebration when he let Alex Rose try to reverse sweep him, stuck in front of the next ball.
Boyce isn’t done yet, though. Daniel Sams, upping the ante, was his next victim and it came from the next ball – his fourth wicket in four.

Sams tried to play around with one leg resting and ended up with his pad stuck in front, giving Boyce a rare feat.
Boyce was the first player in the BBL to score a double hat-trick, and he also became the 10th player in the T20 to do so. Ireland’s Curtis Campher was the last to achieve the feat in T20 at last year’s T20 World Cup in the UAE.
