Roffman Powell was most brutal in the second T20I match between the West Indies and England at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The 28-year-old right-hander was the man of the game after hitting 53 and 107 on Thursday, Jan. 27, and helping the home team win by 20 points.
Jamaica-born Powell starts batting after hosts lose Brandon King Cheaper than Shai Hope. Since then, he has 122 runs with Nicholas Pooran, 11 for the third wicket. On the way to his maiden T20I ton, Powell drove four fours and as many as 10 sixes.
Powell also became the third batsman to hit a T20I ton for the West Indies after Chris Gale and Evan Lewis. On his knock, West Indies scored two fifths of 224 after being batted first.
Powell hit 50 of 31 balls before hitting the gas to finish his 51. With the win, West Indies also lead 2-1 in the series with two games remaining.

After the game-winning knock, Powell spoke about his struggles in the face of a wrist spinner. Powell said the hosts plan to send off Adil Rashid and take the offense to the rest of the Three Lions bowlers.

“Overall improvement…I can hit the ball well but have a little problem with the wrist rotation and I’ve been trying to open up for offside. Rashid is the most threatening of the bowlers so get 20-30 from him And limit the wickets,” Powell said at the post-match award ceremony.
“There’s a big side and a short side, so we don’t want two right-handers in the crease. Communication and sharing the workload is key today. Today everything comes out of the middle,” he added.
