Bold Move by Mumbai Indians:

Mumbai Indians are making exciting moves right from the retention phase. They traded Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans. That was a good move. within one month, another bold move was made by them. On December 15, they announced Hardik Pandya as the new skipper of Mumbai Indians. They referred this to as a new era.

Rohit Sharma ended his tenure as Mumbai Indians’ captain. He led the team for 10 years. He took charge as the captain in the 2013 IPL. Ricky Ponting left captaincy in the midway in 2013 IPL. He won the IPL trophy five times. He carried the team to a new height. Under his captaincy, Mumbai Indians achieved a lot of things. The franchise made Hardik, Rohit’s Successor.

Wasim Jaffer’s View:

Mumbai Indians have made a big decision. Hardik Pandya will start a new journey as the captain of Mumbai Indians. In an interaction, former Indian player, Wasim Jaffer shared his view on that matter. He said, “I’m surprised that MI have moved on from Rohit Sharma so early. It happened so quickly, I’m also a little surprised. When they did the trade, it was probably communicated to Hardik that he is going to come in as the captain. But whether it was communicated to Rohit, I don’t know.”

Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah is a long time member of Mumbai Indians. They were also good contenders for being the captain. However, Hardik becomes the captain. Over that matter, Wasim Jaffer said, “There were a couple of guys who were pretty hopeful of becoming the captain. One of them is Suryakumar Yadav, who is captaining the Indian team. He has captained really well. Jasprit Bumrah as well, he captained India in Tests. I hope it has been communicated really well. It was going to happen, but it happening straightway this season, I am a little surprised.”
