In today’s game, Kolkata Knight Riders made an unbelievable comeback to defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 81 runs. At one point, RCB were in control of the game but Shardul Thakur stole the show away from the RCB. Even though KKR bowlers were amazing today, only one of them has been able to make it into the top 10. Furthermore, the same KKR star is the only shuffle that the Purple Cap has seen today.

Chakravarthy baffles RCB batters

Varun Chakravarthy was in the spotlight today as the right-arm mystery spinner ended the day with figures of 4 for 15. He dismantled the stumps of RCB skipper Faf du Plessis and all-rounder Michael Bracewell at the top to put RCB on the backfoot. He now has five wickets to his name and has now acquired the second spot. He has pushed everyone one step down, and Jason Holder has slipped away from the top 10.

Suyash Sharma impresses on debut

Suyash Sharma made his debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders today. He came in as an impact substitute for KKR’s batter Venkatesh Iyer in the second innings The leg-spinner had a dream debut as he ended up taking 3 for 30, taking the wickets of Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat, and Karn Sharma to dismantle any hopes RCB had left of winning the game. Even though he hasn’t cracked the top 10 spots in the Purple Cap list, fans and experts alike expect him to be in the competition soon.

His senior partner Sunil Narine also gained his form back as he picked up 2 wickets in the game. He was introduced in the attack in the fifth over by KKR’s captain Nitish Rana to break the momentum of RCB openers who were looking in sublime form. He bowled star batter Virat Kohli in his first over itself to begin the proceedings for KKR.
