Rashid now has 14 wickets in 7 games and is currently the best bowler in the season.
The comeback of Piyush Chawla
This season was in particular very important for Piyush Chawlawho was seeking redemption after missing out on playing last year. Mumbai Indians trusted him to be their spin lead and the leg spinner delivered on every promise he made. Even in today’s game when all the other bowlers were getting smashed to all parts of the ground, Chawla quickly completed his 4 overs and even got 2 important wickets of Hardik Pandya and Vijay Shankar.
Chawla has now moved up to the 6th place in the Purple Cap list with 11 wickets in 7 games. His economy rate is also on the brighter side, at 7.11 runs per over. On the other hand, GT’s prime pacer Mohammed Shami went wicketless in today’s game. However, he bowled an impressive spell and gave away just 18 runs in his 4 overs. He has managed to survive in the top 10 but has slipped down to the 9th spot with 10 wickets in 7 games.
