It was a day of revenge as the two teams that won today had lost to their opponents earlier this season. In the first game of the day, GT chased down KKR’s total of 179 runs with 13 balls to spare. On the other hand, in the second game, SRH restricted DC to 188 runs to defend their total of 197. However, the following changes have happened in the Orange Cap after today’s double header.

Gill moving steadily up

Shubman Gill is steadily moving up and is performing exceptionally well for the Gujarat Titans this season. He has scored runs for the franchise in almost every game. Even in today’s encounter against his former team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gill emerged as one of the top es corts for his team. However, he was unlucky to miss out on his half-century by just a run as he was dismissed for 49 runs from 35 balls.

Despite that, he has moved up by a huge margin in the Orange Cap. Before today’s game, Gill was in the 8th spot. However, after his team’s comfortable win over KKR, he has replaced Devon Conway as the new Number 3 on the list . Gill has 333 runs in 8 games and is averaging close to 42 this season.

Bad day for Warner and Venkatesh Iyer

While Shubman Gill had a blast with the bat, Delhi’s skipper David Warner and KKR’s stellar performer Venkatesh Iyer had a nightmare of a day. Warner was dismissed for a first-ball duck as he chopped a good length delivery by Bhuvneshwar Kumar onto his stumps. As a result, he has dropped from the 5th spot to the 6th spot, with no difference in his runs from the last time.

On the other hand, Venkatesh’s outing against the Gujarat Titans was not much better as the left-hander was dismissed for just 11 runs in 14 balls. Therefore, he too has dropped down 2 spots and is now at the 9th spot in the Orange Cap race. He has 296 runs in 9 games and is Currently KKR’s best batter in the season.
