After ending the South Africa tour, Team India is back in T20 action. On January 11, India and Afghanistan met in a three-match T20 series. In Mohali, both teams will play the first T20 match. But before heading to the match, Team India had a setback. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named in the squad for three T20s. But he has been ruled out from the first T20 because of a groin injury. BCCI confirmed that before that match.
On the social media handle, BCCI confirmed the news. They wrote, “ UPDATE: Mr Yashasvi Jaiswal was unavailable for selection for the first T20I due to a sore right groin..”

India’s playing XI for the first T20 features Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar.
Afghanistan’s playing XI against India features Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran (c), Rahmat Shah, Azmatullah Omarzai, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Karim Janat, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen Ul Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
India is set to take on Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series on home turf. In the shortest format, India boasts a flawless record against Afghanistan, securing victories in four out of their five encounters, with one match concluding in a no result.
