Sri Lanka and India Squads for the Upcoming T20I Series

Sri Lanka announced T20I squad for the upcoming series against India and Avishka Fernando was ruled out due to his knee injury. India’s Sri Lanka tour will have a three-match T20 International series and a two-match Test series.

The teams will take on each other in the first T20I on February 24 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow while the second and third T20 International will be played on February 26 and 27 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The first Test will be played from March 4 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh and then Bangalore will host the next and final Test from March 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“In the meantime, the below-mentioned players who were in the T20I squad which toured Australia will return to Sri Lanka due to injuries. Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thushara and Ramesh Mendis,” SLC added.

Dasun Shanaka (c), Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka, Dinesh Chandimal, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kamil Mishara, Janith Liyanage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Kumara, Binura Fernando, Shiran Fernando, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Praveen Jayawickrama, Ashian Daniel

Meanwhile Indian cricket board also had named Indian team for the same series a few days ago. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant would not take part in the same as they were given much needed rest from the hectic schedule.
