Sneh Rana’s Incredible Gully Catch Steals Spotlight in Renuka’s Over


After finishing the Test series in a dominating way, the Indian Women’s Team is on its way to the first T20. They are playing the first ODI match of the series against the Australia Women’s Team. Both teams are locking horns at the Wankhede Stadium. While batting in the second innings, Sneh Rana’s excellent catch on Alyssa Healy’s wicket was stunning. That moment went viral on the internet. 

Sneh Rana’s Flying Catch:

Indian Women’s Team is scheduled to play three ODI matches and three T20 matches against the Australian Women’s Team. On December 28, both teams met for the first ODI match of the series. India batted first. In the second innings, Indian bowlers were in a destructive mode. In the third delivery of the match, the Australian team lost their first wicket. 

After playing exceptionally well in the first innings, Indian bowlers were charged up since the start of the second innings. Renuka Singh was assigned to bowl the first over of the innings. In the third delivery of the over, Renuka bowled a length delivery which was curled away. Alyssa Healy went to slash it but she ended up being edged. Sneh Rana was fielding at the gully. When the delivery went to her, she flew and grabbed the amazing catch. That moment caught the spotlight. 

India Women’s vs. Australian Women’s First ODI Match:

After clinching the historic victory in the Test match against Australia, the Indian Women’s Team is all geared up and ready to take them in the ODI series. After winning the toss, the Indian Women’s Team opted to bat first. India lost Shefali Verma’s wicket quite early. Yastika Bhatia missed a well-deserved century by only 1 run. She was dismissed by 49 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues played an excellent knock of 82 runs in 77 balls. She smashed 7 boundaries. Pooja Vastrakar played an unbeaten knock of 62 runs in 46 balls. After 50 overs, the Indian Women’s Team put on a target of 283 runs. 

While batting in the second innings, the Australian team received an early setback. Skipper Alyssa Healy walked out on a duck. After that, Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry are making an amazing partnership. Litchfield is just 1 run away from her half-century and Perry already completed her half-century. She is batting on 66 runs in 62 balls. In the 22nd over, Australia is 118/1.
