Hobart Hurricanes cricketer Will Parker involved in a superb defence during knockout round Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22 Friday (January 21).
Parker caught the ball near the boundary ropes in a jaw-dropping game against Adelaide Strikers. While the fielder crashed with the ropes and the forwards got the max, the Hurricanes fielder’s attempt caught everyone’s attention.
Will Parker made a full dive near the long-side boundary and completed the catch. But the momentum was so great that he hit the ropes while trying to throw the ball back into the outfield.

The incident occurred on the fourth goal of the 13th inning of the striker’s first inning. Facing Hurricanes part-time spinner Darcy Short, striker in-form hitter Matthew Short hit a short ball that everyone was expected to cross the border.

Whether Will Parker should touch the ropes for a four or a six is in doubt. But since the ball did not touch the turf at any stage and remained in Parker’s hands, it was correctly declared as max.
A 6 meant Short could continue his stellar batting, as the right-hander had 89 points on 48 balls, including four fours and six sixes.
