The Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the Delhi Capitals (DC) in match number 69 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. This will be an evening game and hence will start at 7: 30 PM IST.
The goals for the two teams are pretty clear. With six points from 13 games, Mumbai would want to finish a forgettable season on a high even though a win may not be enough to stop them from finishing last.
As for Delhi, the equation for them is pretty straightforward. If they win, they qualify for the playoffs. If they lose, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) go through. A victory will see them end the league stage on 16 points and they would end with a much better net run rate than RCB.
In their last match, MI slipped from a winning position to lose by three runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Chasing 194, their openers added 95 as Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma crossed 40s. Tim David scored a sizzling 46 off 18 but was run out before he could take the team over the line. Ramandeep Singh impressed with the ball, claiming 3 for 20.
MI predicted XI: Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Daniel Sams, Tilak Varma, Ramandeep Singh, Tristan Stubbs, Tim David, Sanjay Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith, Mayank Markande
Delhi bowled very well to defend a total of 159 against Punjab. After David Warner fell first ball, Mitchell Marsh scored a solid fifty while Sarfaraz Khan played an impressive cameo. Rishabh Pant needs to score as he has failed the team as leader.
DC were excellent in the bowling department in the last match. Shardul Thakur claimed four to rock Punjab while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two each. These are good signs for DC ahead of a crunch game
DC predicted XI: David Warner, Sarfaraz Khan, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Khaleel Ahmed
Top fantasy picks for MI vs DC clash: Daniel Sams, Tilak Varma, Tim David, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Khaleel Ahmed
