The 34-year-old has not played any international games for England, but he has plenty of experience in domestic competition, with 57 first-class, 68 A-level and 138 T20 appearances to his name. He is also a regular for Gloucestershire, with an excellent T20 average of 34.15 and 3518 runs, including a century and 19 fifties.

Cockbain is third in all three of the striker’s games so far, winning 35*(24) and 71*(42) against the Perth Scorchers and Sydney 76ers respectively. He played a key role in knocking down spinners in midfield, and the strikers will be hoping he is just as good in the knockout rounds.
