Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as MI’s captain for the upcoming season. On social media, Mumbai Indians made a heartfelt post for Rohit Sharma.

Rohit’s Contribution to Mumbai Indians:  

IPL 2024 is on its way. Just a few days left for the auction. On December 19, the auction for IPL is scheduled. Before the big day, Mumbai Indians revealed a shocking surprise. Within less than a month of returning to Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya takes over the charge as captain of Mumbai Indians. This was shocking news for the entire cricket World. Rohit as the captain of Mumbai Indians was a different kind of emotion. 

On the social media handle, Mumbai Indians posted an emotional video about Rohit Sharma. The video contains some unforgettable memories of Hitman. After sharing this video, they wrote, “Ro, In 2013 you took over as captain of MI. you asked us to Believe. In victories & defeats, you asked us to Smile. 10 years & 6 trophies later, here we are. Our forever captain, your legacy will be etched in Blue and gold. Thank you, Captain Ro.”

Rohit’s Mumbai Indians:

Rohit’s IPL journey with Mumbai Indians is nothing less than a fairytale. Before the next edition of IPL, the franchise made a bold move. Rohit Sharma ended his 10-year stint as MI captain. In these 10 years, Mumbai Indians’ journey was like a dream. Captain Rohit Sharma lifted the trophy five times. In 2013, Rohit became the captain of the franchise halfway. In that season, MI won the trophy by defeating CSK in the final match. That was just the beginning.

After that season, Rohit made the team champion in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. In these 10 years, Rohit led MI into 158 IPL matches. The team registered wins in 87 matches. As a captain, Dhoni won 82 matches. As a captain, Rohit won 10 wins in 13 playoff matches. Interestingly, MI never lost a final match under Rohit’s captaincy. Rohit Sharma is ending his tenure as captain of Mumbai Indians with five trophies.
