Multan Sultan (PSL 7) – Reserved and draft picks:

Multan Sultan has been a force to be reckoned with in the PSL since the change of ownership in 2019. With a data-driven approach and under the able guidance of Andy Flower, the Multan-based franchise became champions last year, becoming the fifth player to win the PSL Championship. After a dismal start to the season last year, after they won five games in the Karachi stage, Ridzwan’s side staged an epic comeback in the UAE stage, winning six of seven. Including the final to be crowned champion.

Before the PSL 7 draft, Multan Sultan retained seven players: M Rizwan, R Rossouw, S Maqsood, I Tahir, Khushdil Shah, S Dahani and S Masood. With a solid top order, gun-leg spinners and promising fast bowlers at the core, the Sultans are starting to fill other spots in the draft. They strengthened the middle order by acquiring Tim David, R Powell and Odean Smith (eventually replaced by J Charles). They bought back Imran Khan Snr and Muzarabani and the experienced Rumman Raees to complete the fast bowling division. With a plethora of all-rounders in D Willey, Abbas Afridi, Anwar Ali and Asif Afridi, the squad looks well-rounded. Abbas Afridi, Aamer Azmat and Ihsanullah are their three rookies, with Afridi more likely to start. The area to watch is their spin department, which seems to be entirely dependent on the aging Tahir, especially in the absence of Afridi and U Qadir, and the viability of their speed attack on Pakistan’s soon-to-be-flat track, especially Whether it’s bowling without high-quality deaths remains to be seen.

Sultan of Multan (PSL 7) – Stud

A player who has proven himself to be a top fantasy player and is basically popular.

Mohammad Rizwan – As far as T20 is concerned, he had an unforgettable year and the ICC named him T20I Cricketer of the Year. He’ll be at the center of opponents’ bowling plans this season, and they’ll certainly try to exploit his weakness on the perimeter stump against the Pacers. Still, believe he’s having a good season and his wicket-taker provides double value in fantasy points.

Sultan of Multan (PSL 7) – Banker

Players who provide good value to their credit and earn consistent returns.

Shanawaz Dani – Last season’s leading wicketkeeper has been promoted to the Gold category this year. While most of his wickets were at the Emirates last season, his talent was good enough for the flats in Karachi and Lahore. He will be Multan’s first-choice death bowler this season, with bowlers getting a lot of wickets in the stages.

Music Kuimran Tahir This seasoned legspinner is a globally proven performer in this format. Although his performances have dipped slightly since the start of the pandemic, he’s still a bona fide wicketkeeper in this form of play.

Shan Masood — He may not be a superstar hitter, but he provides decent value for Sudan to open the bat. He also has a good link with the bat when he scored 300 in four games in the recently concluded Quaid-e-Azam trophy.

Tim David — A strong mid-level hitter with great success in leagues around the globe and Multan’s lack of a secondary spin option other than Tahir, his backspin will come in handy. Increases his fantasy value.

Multan Sultan (PSL 7) – Risky business

Players with risk factors, possibly due to poor form, injuries, lack of game time, etc…

Sohaib Maqsood – His performance in the recently concluded Sri Lankan Premier League was worrying, where he ran just 41 runs in five innings, with a spin in all five. While he’s surrounded by capable spinning hitters in a Multan setup, it’s still a risky pick.

Riley Rosso says: Not at his best last year, and while he was successful in the CSA Provincial T20 Cup, he’s recovering from a hamstring injury during T10, so it’s best to wait and see.

Multan Sultan (PSL 7) – Sleeper

Provides players who are decent enough but are underrated or just aren’t well-known players.

Rumman Raees and Imran Khan Snr – The two fast bowlers will be fighting for the same spot in the XI. Imran Khan had a good season last year and was the leading wicket-taker in the recently concluded National T20 Cup, but Reyes may be ahead of him considering the team bought him before Imran in the draft Start.

Multan Sultan (PSL 7) – Trap

A player who looks good, but won’t get enough points to be of much use.

David Wiley – He provides the dual value of the bat and the ball. While his batting is more effective at No. 1, the odds of that happening are very low, and from a fantasy standpoint, bowlers who mostly pitch in Powerplay aren’t rewarding enough.

kushdir shah While he is a sure starter, the addition of Tim David and the presence of two key players will likely affect his playing time in the middle.

Multan Sultan (PSL 7) – Flex

A player with lower credit value but still offering some decent value, so helps balance the lineup.

Abbas Afridi – As mentioned earlier, Abbas Afridi is the more likely person to make it into the emerging player quota given the batting and ball-wise he can contribute.
