McCullum Excited for Tough Test Series Against India in 2024


The World Cup 2023 has been concluded a few days ago. Australia ended up being the sixth-time champion. Australia, South Africa, India, and New Zealand played in the semifinal stage. New Zealand and South Africa were knocked out from the semifinal stage. After the World Cup, all teams return to their normal schedule. Upcoming schedules are very busy for every team. New Zealand will be traveling to India in October-November of 2024. Before that, former Kiwi player Brendon McCullum was all excited about the tour.

Brandon McCullum on Future Tour:

New Zealand ended their World Cup 2023 journey after playing the semifinal with India. The runner-up of the 2019 World Cup faced hard luck once again. They started the tournament well but lost their form after that. After the World Cup, they are playing a test series against Bangladesh. In the month of October-November 2024, they will be traveling to India to play a test series. 

Former Kiwi player Brandon McCullum is excited about that series. He said, “I’m excited about the Test series in India because you want to test yourself against the best side and India is best in their own condition. We have a great challenge next year.”

India vs. New Zealand Test Battle:

India and New Zealand are always a strong competitor of each other in the international cricket. Both teams met in the World Test Champion Final in 2021. These two countries played the first edition of the World Test Championship. While batting first, India scored 217/10 in the first innings. Rahane scored 49 runs in 117 balls. New Zealand scored 249/10 in the first innings. Devon Conway played a knock of 54 runs. 

In the second innings, India didn’t play an impressive knock. Rohit Sharma scored 30 runs in 81 balls. Rishabh Pant scored 41 runs in 88 balls. They got all out on 170 runs. In the second innings, New Zealand scored 140/2 and won the tournament by 8 wickets.

India and New Zealand played their last series on Indian soil in 2021. Both the teams played well but India won the series by 1-0. In the last match, India bagged a huge win. In the second match, India was batting first. Opener Mayank Agarwal played a knock of 150 runs in 311 balls. Axar Patel scored an amazing half-century. They got all out on 325 runs. New Zealand got all out on 62 runs in their first innings.

In the second innings, India played well. Mayank Agarwal scored another half-century. He played a knock of 62 runs in 108 balls. Cheteswar Pujara missed a well-deserved half-century. Shubman Gill scored 47 runs in 75 balls. They declared the innings on 276 runs. Even in the second innings, New Zealand struggled. They got all out on 167 runs. India won the match by 372 runs.
