IPL auction is around the corner. On December 19, the auction will take place in Dubai. Teams are checking the last-time preparations ahead of the auction. This the the much-anticipated mini-auction. Calculations are going on every little thing. Teams are eyeing the players. Australia finished the World Cup as the winners. Mitchell Starc was in great form. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar shared his view on this Australian great.

Mitchell Starc can be a Key:

Australia had a great World Cup season. After starting the tournament with two consecutive losses, they bounced back in the tournament. They defeated South Africa in the semifinal and qualified for the final. In the final match, they defeated India and won the World Cup title for the sixth time. In the whole tournament, Mitchell Starc was one of the big assets of the Aussie squad. He dominated the opponents with his magical swings and gifted Australia endless success.

Mitchell Starc has not participated in the IPL after 2015. For the 2024 edition of the tournament, the Aussie Speedstar is coming back. In this auction, his base price is 2 crore INR. In 2014 and 15, Starc participated in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played 27 matches and picked up 34 wickets with a four-wicket haul.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s Words:

Before stepping into the IPL auction, former Indian player Sanjay Manjrekar analyzed the importance of the Aussie pacer in this edition of IPL. He shared his insights on that matter. He thinks that MI and RCB can bid for the pacer. Both teams want to give the ultimate strength to their bowling squad. As per his insights, fans can experience a war between these two franchises,

He said, “Teams that have to play half their home games on absolutely flat pitches may go for him. He is one bowler in the world who will maybe take the pitch out of the equation, do all the magic in the air, get swing and the hurl in yorkers with the new ball, and at the death. So, teams like Mumbai Indians, who have got (Jason) Behrendorff along with Jasprit Bumrah, could show interest in him after letting go of Jofra Archer,”

Later he added, “RCB has got Reece Topley, who is a pretty good bowler, but on flat pitches where most bowlers struggle, Starc and Bumrah are the kind of bowlers who will bring the team back into the game with their bowling because they don’t rely on the pitch as much as some of the other bowlers.”
