The third ODI between India and Australia is taking place at MA Chidambaram Stadium today. The series is currently tied at 1-1 and whosoever wins the game today will take the series home. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first.
Kuldeep Yadav’s ball of the series
Kuldeep Yadav Brought the 39th over of the innings. Australia’s score was 203 for the loss of 6 wickets. Alex Carey had the strike while Sean Abbott was at the non-striker’s end. It was the first delivery of the over.
Kuldeep had tossed the ball up slightly, tempting Carey to go for a big shot. But instead of bowling a conventional leg spinner, he had cleverly bowled a leg cutter, which landed on the middle and leg, deceiving Carey with its length and turn. The ball had spun away from the batsman, leaving him almost very late on his attempted push.
Carey was left stunned and helpless, his bat swinging at thin air as the ball hurtled past him, hitting the top of the off-stump with a satisfying thud. The spin didn’t even give Carey enough time to react. The crowd erupted into a cheer for Kuldeep Yadav. Even Kuldeep’s smile had a bit of surprise there, as he pulled off another superb delivery, leaving the opposition reeling.
Australia bowled out for 269
Earlier today, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. David Warner was making a comeback for the Australian team after his injury. However, Steve Smith, the Australian Captain, surprised everyone by sending Warner in at 4 instead of his regular batting position as an opener.
Australian openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head set a good platform for Australia. The duo put up 68 runs for the opening stand in 10.5 overs. However, as the first wicket fell, the Australian team failed to form any partnerships. Thus, they were bowled out for 269 in 49 overs. Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya Shined for the Indian team with the ball as they picked 3 wickets each.
