Kevin Pietersen Teases IPL Auction Entry Following Legends League Heroics

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen, after a spectacular innings in the Legends League Cricket (LLC), humorously pondered his entry into the upcoming IPL auction. Pietersen, playing for India Capitals, dazzled with a remarkable 56 off 27 deliveries against Manipal Tigers on December 7.

Despite his heroic performance, the Capitals faced elimination as the Tigers secured victory with six wickets and eight balls to spare in the second qualifier. Pietersen concluded a successful LLC campaign, amassing 169 runs at an average of 42.25 and an impressive strike rate of 177.89.

The veteran cricketer, known for his impactful international career, including winning the 2010 T20 World Cup with England, playfully tweeted a video of his innings, captioning it: “Last night. How do I enter the IPL auction?.”

Pietersen’s IPL journey, marked by highs and lows, featured stints with franchises like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, SunRisers Hyderabad, and Rising Pune SuperGiants. In a total of 36 IPL games, he scored just over 1,000 runs at an average of 37.07 and a strike rate of 134.72.

As the LLC season concludes, fans await the IPL auction on December 19, wondering if Pietersen’s cheeky inquiry will lead to a return in the cricketing extravaganza.
