Iyer hits one into the India dugout; Yuzvendra Chahal attempts to run and falls

India cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal found himself in a bit of a tangle during the second T20I against the West Indies on Friday, February 18 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He tried to show his fielding skills outside the boundary ropes, but made a complete mockery of himself. The incident took place in the 16th over after the visitors opted to field first.

In the third ball of the over from Sheldon Cottrell, Venkatesh Iyer collected a four through the fine leg region. The speedster bowled a short ball and the batter used the pace to send the ball past the boundary. It was a poor delivery from Cottrell and Iyer didn’t miss out on collecting a boundary after., Chahal was involved in a fun moment.

Chahal tried to collect the ball, but he made a mess of himself. The 31-year-old lost his balance and fell over. The veteran collided with the person in the dugout after which he fell apart. Even as it was a hilarious moment , fortunately, Chahal seemed to have evaded an injury.

As far as the game is concerned, after the visiting team elected to field first, India didn’t get off to a great start. Ishan Kishan couldn’t get going whatsoever and scored two runs off 10 balls before Cottrell accounted for his wicket. Rohit Sharma smashed two fours and a six in his 18-ball knock of 19 after which Roston Chase sent him packing.

Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t last long either as he became Chase’s second victim. Virat Kohli hasn’t had the best outings of late for Team India, but he looked in pretty good touch. The 33-year-old scored 52 runs off 41 balls with the help of seven fours and one six.

Chase rattled his woodwork to cut short his stay in the middle. Iyer didn’t die wondering either as he made 33 runs off 18 balls with the help of four fours and one six. Romario Shepherd accounted for his wicket in the last over.

But it was Rishabh Pantwho injected momentum into the Indian innings. The left-hander stayed not out on 52 runs off 28 balls with the help of seven fours and one six. India scored 186 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
