The injury scare has already touched several IPL Franchises even before the season has begun. Jasprit BumrahKyle Jamieson, Rishabh Pant, and others were already ruled out earlier and still injuries continue to rule players out. The latest to join the trend are Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. After losing Kyle Jamieson, Chennai may lose another player to injury ahead of the IPL opener on 31st March. LSG too, on the other hand, may lose a young star who shined for them in the last season.

Two left-arm pacers in doubt

Mukesh Choudhary (CSK) and Mohsin Khan (LSG), two promising domestic talents from India, are facing a setback ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The young players are likely to miss out on the tournament due to injuries. Both players were bought by Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at their base price of INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 player auction.

According to CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan, the team does not have any hope for Choudhary’s return to the team. Choudhary was the standout bowler for CSK in the 2022 season. The left-arm seamer from Rajasthan picked up 16 wickets from 13 matches at an impressive average of 26.50. He played a crucial role in CSK’s campaign, providing important breakthroughs and keeping the opposition batsmen in check with his disciplined bowling.

Vishwanathan said, “We are waiting on Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out.”

Mukesh Choudhary had suffered a back injury in December last year and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. On the other hand, Mohsin Khan is practicing with the Lucknow team but his participation is also unclear.

However, Mukesh Choudhary has hinted that he is feeling pretty good and may soon be back in action. But, team management believes that it could very well be after the IPL.
