The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been rescheduled to take place on October 14 instead of its original date of October 15, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday. However, following these concerns, the ICC decided to revise the schedule to accommodate the requests from participating ICC member boards.In addition to the India–Pakistan match, eight other matches in the World Cup have also seen changes. India’s last group-stage match against the Netherlands, which was initially scheduled for November 11, has been shifted to November 12 and will be held in Bengaluru. The England vs Afghanistan fixture has been moved from Saturday, October 14, to Sunday, October 15.Other changes include Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka, which has been moved from October 12 to October 10, and Australia’s match against South Africa, which will now be played on October 12 instead of October 13.New Zealand’s game against Bangladesh, originally scheduled as a day match for October 14 in Chennai, has been rescheduled to October 13 and will now be played as a day-night contest.
The ICC’s decision to revise the schedule was made after a meeting with the ten staging associations, during which BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated that requests for changes were received from 2-3 ICC member boards.
