An important final requires planning. Rohit Sharma and company are therefore anticipated to play a practice match against a County XI before the crucial World Test Championship match between India and Australia. To set up the practice match, the BCCI is now in contact with the ECB. The Indian team will require some much -needed red ball practice to become acccustomed to the pitch and ground conditions, so that is the main item on the agenda.
BCCI Correspondent said
“We are in talks with the ECB if we can play a practice game. The idea is to have some red-ball practice before the final. We will know in a few days if the plan works out. It will help us in match simulations and acclimatize to the conditions,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
However, the decision has not yet been made public because the ECB has not yet granted the BCCI‘s request. The Indian player’s familiarization with the English pitch and ground conditions is the primary goal of the practice game.
“But yes, not all players will be available. Players who will be in the IPL final will get a few days rest before joining practice in London,” the BCCI official concluded.
The senior BCCI continued by saying that many players won’t be available for the exhibition game against County XI. All of the players are presently focused on competing in the Indian Premier League. Additionally, none of the players who will compete in the IPL finals in 2023 will take part in the exhibition game. These athletes will take a short break before reuniting with the team and competing in the WTC Finals.
