Here’s the reason why Harry Brook not playing today’s IPL Match against Rajasthan Royals

In a crucial match of the Indian Premier League 2023 season, Rajasthan Royals are hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The Rajasthan Royals captain, Sanju Samson, won the toss and decided to bat first on his team’s home ground. This decision came as a surprise to many cricket experts, as the pitch in Jaipur has been known to favor the chasing teams in recent times.

Why is Harry Brook not playing today?

The teams were announced before the start of the match, and it was learned that Sunrisers Hyderabad had dropped Harry Brook from their Playing XI. Brook has been going through a lean patch with the bat this season, apart from a century against the Kolkata Knight Riders .In his last few innings, Brook had failed to make an impact, and this forced the Sunrisers management to take the tough decision of dropping him from the team.

“Would’ve also batted first. It’s a used wicket. There’s been some close ones. Most of the time we’ve played decent cricket but not been able to get over the line. Couple of changes – Phillips comes in for Brook. Vivrant Sharma makes his debut.”, Sunrisers captain Aiden Markram said after losing the toss.

Glenn Phillips has been brought in as a replacement for Harry Brook. Philips is a hard-hitting batsman from New Zealand, who has made a name for himself in T20 cricket around the world. He has been in good form recently and will be looking to make an impact in his second match of the IPL 2023 season.

Even though Brook’s name has been kept in the impact substitutes, it is highly unlikely that he will make it into the Playing XI. The Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, will be looking to put up a strong total on the board and put pressure on the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
