Hazzlewood talks about the love-hate relationship between Australia and Pujara

Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara has been a thorn in the flesh for the Australian cricket team since the last 3 Border Gavaskar Trophy. The batter played a crucial role during both the away Border Gavaskar Trophies. He kept tiring the Australian quicks while the other Indian batters score freely at the other end.

Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the hardest batters to bowl to, according to Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, who also noted that there is a “thrill” one experiences after getting him out. Pujara recently completed a century of Test matches during the Border-Gavaskar series, and Although he couldn’t score big in the four matches, he still had some vital contributions. The 35-year-old has played in 102 Test matches and scored more than 7,000 runs, including 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries.

Hazlewood spoke

“It’s a bigger thrill for the bowlers (to dismiss Pujara). I think when you do end up getting his wicket, it means you have earned it,” Hazlewood said on the RCB podcast on Tuesday.

“It means you’ve put in a lot of hard work. Whether it is the fifth ball he (Pujara) faces… you’ve already bowled to him in the previous Test matches, you’ve earned that respect and you’ve earned that wicket,” added Hazlewood.

“He’s someone I’ve had some great tussles over the years, and, in particular, in Australia. He’s someone Australians love to hate but he’s a fantastic player and I guess that is part of Test cricket. When you do get him out, you’ve earned it,” said Josh Hazlewoodwhose participation in IPL 2023 could be in doubt because of the tendon injury.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are facing injury issues this season. Hazlewood is likely to miss initial matches for RCB due to a tendon injury. Along with him, Rajat Patidar will also miss some matches due to injury. Hasaranga will not be available for the first 2 matches due to national duty.
