Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for their season starters. Winning the toss, RCB decided to bowl first and fielded a bowling-oriented side.

Mohammed Siraj and Reece Topley grabbed early wickets to set the Mumbai Indians on backfoot. Mohammed Siraj got the opener, Ishan Kishan, out in the third over while Reece Topley removed the much-hyped Chris Green in the very next over. However, after these early wickets, a shocking incident happened on the field that almost left the players and the fans alike out of breath. Karthik and Siraj went for a catch together, and collided, almost ending up injuring each other.

How did it happen?

The incident took place on the fifth delivery of the over when RCB’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was bowling to Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma. Siraj bowled a bouncer, and Sharma tried to pull it but ended up getting a top edge. The ball went straight up in the air, and both Siraj and RCB’s wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik went for the catch.

In the heat of the moment, both players collided, and as a result, the catch was dropped. However, Karthik had called for the catch as the ball was closer to him, and he had the big gloves. Siraj, who had fallen to The ground after the collision, was quickly surrounded by a few players from both teams to check on his well-being.

Fortunately, Siraj spoke and seemed to be doing well, which was a moment of relief for the RCB camp. The fast bowler was soon back on his feet and ready to bowl the next delivery. Although the missed opportunity could have been costly for RCB, Siraj’s quick recovery and return to the game gave his team a boost of confidence. It was good news for RCB as both the players made it out safely from the collision. The team is already struggling with injury scares and could not have afforded to add theirs names to it.
