Delhi Capitals defeated UP Warriorz by 42 runs on Tuesday at the DY Patil Stadium to earn their second victory in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. This was another back-to-back impressive performance from the Australian skipper. Delhi scored a mammoth total of 211 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs. In response, UP had a respectable start but continued to lose wickets often, only managing 169/5 in 20 overs.

Tahila McGrath put up a strong fight, scoring an unbroken 90 from 50 balls, the greatest individual total in the WPL to date. Yet, she received no assistance from her teammates. Jess Jonassen was awarded the man of the match award for her all- round performance with ball and bat. She scored 20 balls 42 and took 3 wickets.

After defeating Gujarat Titans in their previous match, this was UP’s first loss in the WPL.
