Delhi Capitals (DC) are one of the teams who are yet to win the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Plenty of colossal names, including the likes of Virender Sehwag, Glenn McGrath, Gautam GambhirGautam GambhirAB de Villiers ad David Warner among others played for them.

But a title has continued to elude them. After Shreyas Iyer was made the skipper midway through the 2018 edition, the Capitals changed their fortunes to some extent. The team started qualifying for the playoffs more often than not.

In 2020, they played their maiden IPL final in Dubai, but lost to the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI). It remains to be seen if they can go one step ahead next season and win the championship.

Who will be the Captain of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022?

Rishabh Pant is set to lead the Capitals in the upcoming edition of the T20 tournament. The southpaw has been with the franchise for last four to five seasons and has evolved as a player. The southpaw was a tad lucky when it came to captaincy.

Before the 2021 IPL, Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to a shoulder dislocation. Pant was thereafter made the skipper for the event. Iyer returned for the second leg in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), but the management stuck with Pant as the captain.

Although he had his ups and downs as a batter, Pant caught the limelight with his leadership skills. He will be looking to help DC win their maiden IPL title.
