Only the third player

During Delhi Capitals’ run chase against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, David Warner reached the landmark of 6000 runs in the Indian Premier League by hitting a boundary off Trent Boult. With this achievement, he became only the third player after Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan to enter the elite “6k club” in the IPL. Kohli currently leads the all-time list with 6727 runs from 225 games, followed by Dhawan’s 6370 runs from 208 matches.

David Warner‘s achievement of reaching the 6000-run milestone in the Indian Premier League is even more impressive when considering the number of innings it took him to reach this feat. The burly Australian achieved this feat in just 165 innings, which makes him the fastest player to reach 6000 runs in the IPL. In comparison, Virat Kohli had taken 188 innings and Shikhar Dhawan had taken 199 innings to achieve the same feat.

In addition to becoming the fastest player to reach the milestone of 6000 runs in the Indian Premier League, David Warner has also become the only overseas player to achieve this feat. The top-five list of highest run-scorers in the IPL is completed by Rohit Sharma with 5880 runs and Suresh Raina with 5528 runs.
