Cummins Makes History: Three Consecutive 5-Wicket Hauls at Home


After a long, the red ball magic is back. After completing the World Cup 2023 journey, Australia and Pakistan met for a three-match Test series. After defeating Pakistan in the first two Test matches, the Aussies are now locking horns with opponents in the third Test match. Australian captain Pat Cummins is leading the team from the front. In this Test series, he made an amazing record as the first Australian. 

Pat Cummins’s Unique Record:

In the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, Australia and Pakistan had two different kinds of journies. Pakistan ended their journey in the group stage and Australia ended the tournament being the winner. After the tournament, both teams locked horns in a three-match Test series. In the first two Test matches, Australia registered wins in a dominating way. 

Australian skipper Pat Cummins is leading the team from the front. With the ball, he performed exceptionally well. He registered a unique record. Pat Cummins becomes the first Australian to take three consecutive Test five-wicket hauls at home since Merv Hughes in 1988.

In both innings of the second Test, Pat Cummins recorded two consecutive five-wicket hauls. In the first innings of the second Test, Cummins picked up 5 wickets in 48 runs. He picked up some crucial wickets and stopped the opponent in 264 runs. In the second innings, he got another five-wicket haul. He took five wickets in 49 runs. That form continues to the third Test match. In the first innings of the third Test, Cummins registered another fifer. He took 5 wickets in 61 runs. He has become the first Australian to achieve this milestone.

Australia vs Pakistan Third Test:

After two successful encounters, Australia is giving tough competition to Pakistan. After winning two matches, Australia already named the series. After playing the third Test match against Pakistan, David Warner will retire from the Test format. That is a special match for the Aussies. 

The first day of the match was eventful. After losing wickets frequently in the start, Pakistan fought back. Mohammad Rizwan played a responsible knock of 88 runs in 103 balls with 10 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. Salman Agha scored an amazing half-century. Aamer Jamal played a knock of 82 runs in 97 balls. They got all out in 313 runs. Australia played only one over before the stump and scored 6 runs.
