Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the defending champions, the Chennai Super Kings in the season opener by 6 wickets. Their bowlers were the main heroes of their success who never allowed the CSK batters to play freely and stopped them for just 131 runs. The KKR batters then chased down the target easily with 6 wickets in hand and 9 balls remaining. Umesh Yadav was brilliant with the new ball while Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy were exceptional in the middle-overs. KKR played like a team in the first game and will look to do the same in this one as well.
