Arshdeeo Singh to play for this county team in June

Star Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has signed for five Championship games at Kent in June/July. He will look to improve his red-ball skills.

“Kent Cricket is delighted to announce that India international bowler Arshdeep Singh will be available to play for the county in five LV= Insurance County Championship matches between June & July, subject to regulatory approval,” the press release stated.

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said, “We are delighted to have a player of Arshdeep’s potential join us for five matches this summer. He has demonstrated that he has world-class skills with the white ball, and I am very confident he will be able to put those skills to good use with the red ball in the County Championship.”

Becomes the fourth Indian to represent Kent

After Kanwar Shumshere Singh, Rahul Dravidwho is currently the head coach of the India men’s team, and Navdeep Saini, Arshdeep will become the fourth Indian player to wear the White Horse in a competitive setting.

Arshdeep is excited to play red-ball cricket in England. He said that the club has a very rich history and will look to improve his red-ball skills playing for this club.

Arshdeep Singh said, “I am excited to play red-ball cricket in England and continue to improve my skills in the first-class game. I look forward to performing in front of Kent’s Members and supporters; Rahul Dravid has already told me it is a Club with a great history.”

After making his ODI debut in New Zealand in November of last year, Arshdeep has represented India in 29 international matches, including a spectacular ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022. Arshdeep got the ball to swing both ways in the T20 World Cup and had excellent control for a bowler at such a young age.

Moreover, he has claimed 25 wickets in seven first-class matches of his career so far, with an average of 23.84 and an economy of 2.92.

Certainly Arshdeep has enormous potential in him. He has got this excellent opportunity to add another facet to his evolving bowling. India is in search of an all-format pacer since Zaheer Khan.
