Speaking further about Akash’s early playing career, his brother disclosed that he was prohibited from competing in neighborhood events because of the reputation of his bowling.

“Nobody let him play here. There was a lot of fear of his bowling. So, he was banned from the local tournaments. Darr ka mahoul tha (there was fear all around). Akash used to go outside of Roorkee and play,” he added.

In the 46th game of the current season against Punjab Kings, Akash made his IPL debut. He did not have a fantastic performance, though, as he allowed 37 runs in his three-over period. In his second game, he recorded his maiden tournament wicket as he eliminated CSK’s starter Devon Conway.
