Travis Head is in the form of his life and he will look to leave a strong foot print in the Ashes challenge to come.
3. Ben Duckett (England)
There was a time when England used to rely upon openers that gave them a sedate yet stable start. However, England have moved on from the likes of Dom Sibley, Rory Burns and their approach to the new red ball. England have discovered an explosive opener in Ben Duckett, who currently holds an average of 47.05 in Test Cricket along with a strike rate of 88.88.
Ben Duckett doesn’t just play orthodox cricket shots but brings in experimental play with good effect. As long as this approach to the new red ball is working, Ben Duckett will secure his position in the side.
His form has been exceptionally lately. Duckett recently scored 182 against Ireland and 177 against Middlesex in a county match. He was also instrumental in England’s victory over Pakistan away from home. Duckett is certainly one of the batters to look out for in The Ashes.
4. Alex Carey (Australia)
Alex Carey has cemented his spot in the Australian Test squad with his consistent performance both with the gloves and with the bat.
Alex Carey recently scored an important 48 runs in the first innings and 66 not out in the second innings against India in the WTC Final. His confident batting against India on the fourth day saw Australia extend the lead beyond 400.
Carey is particularly strong through the off side and anything short and wide is punished by him with disdain. He is a naturally gifted player who has a great extension of arms while playing drives. He can access most areas in off side due to his reach.
Carey plays counter-attacking cricket, which is known to be the Trademark of Australia’s cricket history.
He strengthens the middle order of Australia and the other teams usually have to get past him to derail the lower order. Carey is certainly one of the batters to look out in The Ashes.
5. Harry Brook (England)
Harry Brook is the young sensation that everyone is talking about in the cricket fraternity. He started off by playing cricket for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League, where he performed exceptionally well in two consecutive seasons. Thereafter, he was called into Eng land’s white ball side.

Brook currently holds an average of 81.80 and a strike rate of 99.03 in Test cricket. Except for his form in the recently concluded IPL, Harry Brook has been doing well in International cricket. He performed superbly in the Test series against Pakistan and followed it up in the face-off against New Zealand.
Brook will provide a lot of stability and firepower to the English middle order. If he hits form in the upcoming matches, England will have a great chance to retain The Ashes.
