Key Bangladeshi stars Shakib Al Hassan and Tuskin Ahmed returned from injury, and the hosts fought to prevent the Pakistan team from being swept in the second test in Dhaka.
Bangladesh fell 1-0 to two test series after being defeated by eight wickets in Chittagong, where it severely missed a striker pitcher.
The host was also whitewashed by Pakistan 3-0 in the Twenty20 series.
But Bangladesh has won five of the last seven tests at Milpur Stadium in Dhaka, including beating England and Australia, which will give it confidence to repeat the feat there when the test begins on Saturday.

The captain Mominul Haque hopes that the conditions of the stadium in Millpool will match those in Chittagong, and Bangladesh has performed well in the first four days of the game.
“I prefer such a wicket. I think we have a very flat wicket, which is very helpful for the batter, but the Pacers face obstacles,” Mominur said after failing the first test.
Bangaldesh’s left arm spinner Taijul Islam staged a lone battle in the first game and won 7-116.
However, due to the separation of Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafiq’s 151, the Pakistan team won easily despite their efforts.
Taijul’s regular spinning partner Shakib missed the game after suffering a hamstring injury during the 2020 World Cup last month.
Shakib was included in the first test team and hoped that he would recover in time, but he was subsequently excluded.
In the last Twenty20 international match against Pakistan on November 22, Bangladesh also missed the service of speed bowler Taskin because of his finger injury.
Since returning to the team after a four-year absence, Tuskin has been in good testing condition, scoring 11 wickets in three games.
Some changes are expected in the hosts for the second test, as the opening batsman Saif Hassan is missed out by illness.
The Bangladesh selector appointed a team of 19 members, and considering the upcoming series in New Zealand, it will go there two days after the Dhaka test.
