Afghanistan’s Naveen predicts India to win 2019 cricket world cup

Afghanistan’s 18-year old cricketer Naveen Ul Haq has predicted team India to win upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 in England. In a recent interview with Sports Mirchi, Naveen sees 2011 world cup winners to be champions next year.

“I think India got a very big chance I think to win the 2019 cricket world cup,” quoted as saying by Sports Mirchi.

Afghanistan will be playing their second ICC World Cup in 2019. They appeared in 2015 world cup where they just managed to win against Scotland. So it will be interesting to see how they play in 10-team tournament. However fast bowler Naveen is hopeful of team’s doing well and better than last championship.

“We are playing our 2nd world cup. So I think our team will do better than the last world cup in 2015.”

Naveen Ul Haq played two ODIs and Twenty20s for Afghanistan national team and he captained under-19 team in ICC U19 world cup earlier this year. Under his leadership, Afghanistan defeated Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand under-19 teams during 2018 u19 world cup and reached to the third playoff match.

When asked about leadership skills who he admires, he revealed that he is a die-hard fan of former India captain MS Dhoni. He said, “I get a lot of inspiration, motivation & follow the legend M.S. Dhoni – especially his captaincy & always try to learn seeing his captaincy.’

He also wishes to play under Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy in Indian Premier League if get chance. Naveen wants to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2019.

“I would like to play under the legend MSD. So Chennai Super Kings will be my team,” he added.

The 12th edition of Indian Premier League is scheduled to kick off on 29th May. It will be interesting to see where 2019 IPL will be played as it is still not confirmed whether complete tournament will be played in India or not.
