Electric transportation company Revel today opened its first electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging Superhub to the public at the historic former Pfizer Building in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Superhub is the largest quick charging station for general electric vehicles in the Americas, with 25 chargers, and is the first Superhub network planned by Revel in New York City. During the first week of the opening of the Bed-Stuy website, the public will charge for free (as of Tuesday, July 6).

Before the opening of Revel’s first Superhub, there were only two public fast charging stations for electric vehicles in the urban core of New York City. Most warehouses in the city are located farther away, such as JFK Airport, and many parking lots can be accessed for a fee. The adoption rate of electric vehicles in New York City is also very low, with only 14,000 electric vehicles among the 1.9 million registered cars and SUVs in the city.
