Helsinki, January 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – Valo Therapeutics Oy (Valo Tx), a developer of a new adaptive immunotherapy platform for cancer and infectious diseases, today announced University of HelsinkiIn Finland, patented technology uses pre-existing immunity (PEI) against pathogens to improve the therapeutic effect of Valo Tx’s leading platform, PeptiCRAd.
This innovative approach leverages existing acquired immunity (for example, generated by vaccination against pathogens) by incorporating pathogen-specific peptides into the company’s PeptiCRAd platform. PEI technology uses the body’s immune memory to help produce a faster and stronger immune response in the tumor microenvironment, aiming to improve the overall therapeutic effect of PeptiCRAd.
In a complete animal model of immune tumors, the pre-immunization of tetanus-specific peptides significantly enhanced the response after subsequent immunization with oncolytic adenovirus coated with tumor peptides. Valo Tx’s PeptiCRAd technology combined with anti-PD1. An enhanced response was seen in terms of T cell response and significantly better tumor control. Three-quarters of the animals treated in this way experienced complete inhibition of tumor growth.
Combining this method with Valo’s PeptiCRAd technology can further enhance the immune and tumor response to a range of cancers.
Valo Tx’s experienced immunotherapy development team, led by Dr. CSO Shari Pesonen, …
