In 2020, USAA announced the launch of telematics-supported automotive claims (TEACTM value). TEAC uses SafePilot to process data telematics to speed up the claims process, thereby providing a more seamless membership experience and faster claims solutions. The level of auto claims is still lower than before the pandemic, but this situation is expected to change in the coming months and new school year. Although there have been fewer minor accidents than in the past, the severity has also increased, accelerating the next phase of TEAC, namely active collision detection. Augmented reality comes along
In 2019, USAA completed a pilot where on-site adjusters received augmented reality (AR)-enabled glasses, allowing their managers to see what the adjusters saw and provide real-time feedback during physical inspections. In three months, the pilot saved 160 hours of travel time for four adjusters. USAA is now entering the production-level testing period, distributing 250 pairs of AR-enabled glasses to regulators.
Life insurance underwriting that supports machine learning
USAA is now using machine learning to digitize paper medical records and create summaries for applicable life insurance underwriting. This leads to a significant reduction in time; manual summarization takes up to five days, while machine learning has been reduced to one day, and accuracy has improved.
