The Swedish Hospital is the only hospital in Colorado to be nominated by the 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care in the United States and ranks in the top 5% of neurosurgery operations.
Englewood, Colorado, May 23, 2021-(PR.com)-The Swedish Medical Center announced today that it has won the “Health Level 2021 America’s 250 Best Hospitals”. According to data from Healthgrades (the leading resource linking consumers, doctors and the health system), this difference puts Sweden in the top 5% of nearly 4,500 hospitals in the United States that have been evaluated for their superior clinical performance. This is the second year in a row that the Swedes have received this honor. In addition to many special professional quality awards, this award was also awarded, including the 100 Best Stroke Care Hospitals in the United States, the Neuroscience Excellence Award and the Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award. From 2017 to 2019, according to 19 rated case fatality rates and program evaluations, the death risk of patients treated in hospitals that won the award was on average 27.4% lower than that of patients in hospitals that did not receive the award. *

For example, in hospitals that did not receive awards, the risk of death for patients receiving stroke treatment was on average 30.3% lower than that of patients in hospitals that did not receive awards. *
The winners of the “Top 250 Best Hospitals in the US Health Level” stand out among the overall clinical excellence in many medical fields. In the 2021 study period (Medicare fiscal year 2017-2019), among the 32 most common hospitalization conditions and procedures, at least 21 of these hospitals showed the excellent performance of the Medicare population in terms of clinical outcomes-through objective performance data Measure (adjusted mortality and hospital complications).
