Leading Australian universities will use Microba Life Science’s analysis platform to explore the soldier’s “cognitive biology group” to discover opportunities to improve cognitive and physiological performance.
In a collaborative project funded by the Next Generation Technology Fund, researchers from Newcastle University and Queensland University of Technology will analyze the intestinal microbiome of soldiers to study the human, microbial, and environmental interactions that affect cognitive ability, creating a “recognition “Knowledge Biology Group” uses Microba’s technology.
Using samples taken before, during, and after intensive training, the study will measure how the gut microbiota is affected by environmental stressors experienced by soldiers, with the goal of identifying microbial characteristics that can be correlated with cognitive performance results.
