As communicated before last year, Oerlikon will expand its existing world-class additive manufacturing facilities to include laser cladding and thermal spraying services; thereby realizing a service “super center” under one roof and allowing the company to conveniently provide “Printing and coating” parts.
The facility now provides comprehensive laser cladding services, capable of providing outer and inner diameter coatings, as well as laser hardening, pre- and post-processing and inspection services.
The facility is well-equipped to handle a variety of parts, with a maximum part weight of 15,000 pounds (6,800 kg) and a maximum part length of 480 inches (12,192 mm). The outer diameter can reach 96 inches (2438 mm), and the inner diameter can reach 2 inches to 120 inches (50.8 mm to 3048 mm).
